Canon released the PIXMA MX700 Office-All-In-One printer, scanner
and copier in 2004, long before computer systems shipped with Windows 7. Canon
does not support the MX700 with Windows
Drivers
·
Though Canon lists the MX700 as one of the products not supported
in Windows 7, the company still provides a driver and updated software for
download. The same driver that worked on XP and Windows 2000 systems can
function in Windows 7. Uninstall the old driver (if already installed),
disconnect your printer and then install the new software.
·
In addition to updating the driver, Canon has Windows 7-versions
of most of the necessary and the included software for the MX700. You should be
able to overcome any problems that arise from updating the operating system on
your PC by installing (or reinstalling) the Canon "Solution Menu Version
1.4.3" and "My Printer Version 2.5.0."
·
Upgrade from Vista
·
Canon reports one known error for the MX700 for users who have upgraded their operating system from Windows
Vista to Windows 7. After the upgrade is complete, the MX700 scanning function
appears to be disabled. Canon's recommendation is to remove all printer drivers
and reinstall the MP version of the driver from the company's website.
